In 2011, I traveled across Canada by train and on Vancouver Island by taxi along Highway 19 all the way from Qualicum Beach to Port Hardy located at the northern tip of the Island. I photographed the red poppies not far from the lodge where I stayed and this fall (2015) I used a knife to paint them. Wild, rugged and beautiful. Although not shown, this painting is beautifully framed.
